OMEGA Company installed the Leak Detection and Activity Control System (OMEGA LDACS) at supply pipeline to the junction point to Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean pipeline system (ESPO PS). Works on equipping the facility “Oil transportation system (oil pipeline) from oil processing unit (OPU) of Yaraktinskoye oil/gas-condensate field to oil pump station No. 7 of Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean pipeline system. Extension” are finished. The installed system based on using fiber-optic sensors, will increase environmental and technological safety of oil transportation process.

The commissioned equipment is characterized with expanded functionality. The improved system of recognition algorithms of the signal received from the route allows accurately classifying the events, informing the operator on leakage, its coordinates, as well as on LDACS failure in case of emergency situation. The acceptance tests conducted in December confirmed the system’s efficiency.
Works on assembling and commissioning of LDACS at the supply pipeline from the oil delivery and acceptance point to the junction point to ESPO are performed by OMEGA Company within the established period according to the previously concluded contracts. The customer is Irkutsk Oil Company, LLC, delivering oil to oil trunk pipelines system of Transneft, JSC for its further uninterrupted transportation to domestic market and for export.
“Equipping the oil pipeline with the leak detection system from Yaraktinskoye field to the junction point to Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean pipeline system in the area of oil pump station No. 7 being designed, is part of the complex of measures conducted by Transneft, JSC as regards decreasing possible negative impact on the environment in relation to extension of ESPO capacity” – mentioned Dmitry Pleshkov, Director General of OMEGA Company.
